Four Months Down the Road - Kindness Patrol is Reaching Animals Where Help Rarely Arrives
Kindness Patrol is about showing up for those who have no voice. Together we are changing lives – one rescue at a time.
Every day, homeless dogs across Romania face challenges that go unnoticed. They lie injured by roadsides, unwanted litters are born into harsh conditions, and many communities lack access to affordable sterilisation and veterinary care.
It was this reality that inspired the launch of Kindness Patrol. Created through a partnership between Raise The Standards, Romania Animal Rescue, Stichting Le Woef and the Centre of Hope Veterinary Hospital, the initiative was designed to bring help directly to the animals who need it most.
“The first four months have shown just how much this project is needed. It represents more than a rescue vehicle on the road. It is a mission that never stops. An idea that had been living in our hearts for years, but one that wasn’t easy to bring to life. Until we decided to join forces, because together we are so much stronger,” says Carina Olsson, Co-Founder of RTS.

Rather than waiting for animals to be brought to a clinic or shelter, Kindness Patrol takes veterinary support into communities. The team patrols poor neighbourhoods, rural areas and known hotspots for stray animals, providing assistance to injured dogs and cats while helping prevent future suffering through sterilisation programmes.
The project was made possible through the generosity of animal advocate Ylva Gefvert, whose sponsorship of 500 spay and neuter procedures provided the foundation for the initiative. Special recognition also goes to Dr Aurelian Stefan, whose vision and commitment helped bring the partnership together.
Our sincere thanks also go to Lennart Hilander for the generous donation of the Iveco van and trailer, and to Stefan Daniel and Vlad Silviu Popa for transporting it all the way from Sweden to Romania.
Our colleagues Ovidiu & Dani have been out on the streets every single day. They sometimes find themselves in the most heartbreaking situations, discovering dogs living in conditions that truly break your heart. But that is exactly why we are so proud to finally be making a real difference. Because every rescue, every spay/neuter and every life saved matters,” says Yvette Berg, Co-Founder of RTS.
